The NZ Heartland XV continued to give the big boys something to think about at the inaugural Jock Hobbs Memorial national under-19 tournament in Taupo.
After upsetting Tasman on Sunday afternoon, the Heartland XV with their handful of Wanganui players went down 48-38 to Southland on Wednesday afternoon in ahigh-scoring B Division semifinal at Owen Delany Park.
Southland will now contest the Michael Jones Trophy against Manawatu on Saturday. Heartland XV will be in the playoff for third, also 11th-12th of the whole competition, with Hawke's Bay, who lost 42-25 to Manawatu after leading at halftime. PHOTO/SUPPLIED
