Chris Harris added gold and silver to Aramoho Wanganui Rowing Club's medal haul on Lake Ruataniwha at the weekend.
Competing for Central as the sole Wanganui male representative at premier level of the Bankstream NZ Rowing Champs, Harris teamed with Wairau Rowing Club's Robbie Manson to win the men's doublesculls.
They saw off the Southern and Auckland crews in 6m 20.28s. Harris was then part of the silver medal men's coxed eight, alongside stroke James Hunter, Joe Wright, Brook Robertson, Corey McCaffrey, Karl Manson, Troy O'Reilly, Tom Murray, and cox Michael Dessoulavy. The Central team completed the course in 5m 35.59s - just under two seconds behind the Waikato team.
Harris' Central crew also won the coxless quad sculls. Having been called up to accept the Centennial Scull trophy on behalf of AWRC after their success at the nationals, the 2012 Olympian Harris was then named among the 92 rowers and three coxswains to trial for the 2015 New Zealand teams at Lake Karapiro, starting Friday.
