Wanganui Harrier Club's busy weekend season continued with the Road Champs on the 10km looping course in Wanganui East on Saturday.

Heading down Wakefield St, the senior runners did two laps for a 10km course, while the age grade runners have an 8km course which skips out the Wanganui East School area.

The children's race goes in the opposite direction for a short, out-and-back run.

Line honours went to Veteran Men's competitor Neil Mayo, while Jason Daws was second although not listed as he had not yet joined the club.

The Conder family were again to the fore as Christian won the Under 20 race, Thomas took out the Under 18 boys, and mother Paula won the Veteran Women's race.

The club's official 2016 season will finish on Saturday with the Gavin Collins Memorial Half Marathon - starting at the Whanganui Multisport clubrooms and heading down the riverbank.

Walkers start at 8am, with the runners taking off at 9am, and non-club members can enter.

After that, the club members will start preparing for the 3 Bridges Marathon on December 10.
