IT'S a super night of chasing action at Hatrick this evening which is dominated by Group race heats.

Four heats for the Group 1 $40,000 Liquorland Wanganui Spion Rose Cup, plus four heats for the $13,000 Group 2 www.racing.co.nz Dash For Cash will decide the finalists for next Friday.

The Spion Rose heats will be contested over Races 5-8 with the last three forming the legs for this evening's guaranteed $10,000 TAB Triple Trio.

Here's a run down on the leading contenders, including their TAB Futures market quotes - option 987 (winner of the final) - where the first two in each heat will advance.

Heat 1, Race 5: The pacy Jawlaa ($12) has drawn ideally to use his early pace which is is ideally suited to this track.

Tuesday's strong Otago 545m winner Know Danger ($18) is likely to be sighted rocketing home late. Others who hold qualifying claims includes Jibbajabba Jewel ($41) who has been luckless lately, along with the inside and outside drawn pair of Killer Lyon ($18) and Cawbourne Phillip ($81).

Heat 2, Race 6: The railer Ritza Danny ($7) draws perfectly in the one trap for his racing style. Royal Runner ($12) was a stylish winner of the last Friday's Wanganui Oaks.

Fridays Wanganui Derby runner up Trust Issues ($14) is likely to deliver a competitive race. The Canterbury chasers Invidious ($16) and Dyna Filbert ($101) both add interest being on track debut here.

Heat 3, Race 7: NZ Cup runner-up Fast Archer ($4) has drawn to use his known early pace here. Fashion And Fame ($9) was last week's strong Wanganui Derby winner.

The pacy Gibbonator ($21) and the strong Cawbourne Bright ($51) are likely to produce solid efforts as is the northern visitor Stylish Fancy ($51).

Heat 4, Race 8: This heat promises to be a cracker owing to the clash between the exciting Cawbourne Couch ($4.50) and last year's Spion Rose winner Jannik ($12).

Check The Mail ($51) will relish drawing the ace trap in this heat, while Harlem Haka ($51) owns sufficient early pace to make things rather interesting here.

Fortis Flyer ($101) produced a bold Oaks third placing last week while Caesar Chance ($61) occupied the same placing in Friday's Derby.
