"I was pleased with the way that he came into the race over the latter stages after a little bit of early traffic issues," she said.
Lochinvar Brando peaked on his gallop, but he certainly gave the impression that he would have benefited from his assignment and he exits from the same two trap on Friday.
"Pleased with his draw, from where he should put himself straight into the race," said Schofield. "He will take improvement from last week."
Little Teegan returned to what appears to be her favourite track to contest the second heat for her trainer, Arch Lawrence.
As usual she wasn't the quickest into stride, settling back in the midfield pack.
Bounding straight into the race lead, as he normally does, was Walsh's consistent stayer Thrilling Logic.
Little Teegan was giving the lamp lighters a fair margin when entering the back straight on the last occasion.
She then fluently extended, effortlessly taking territory of the leaders along the rail.
Turning for home, Little Teegan was travelling sweetly and it was in effortless style that she gathered in the pacemaker to scamper clear for her four-length heat victory over Thrilling Logic, achieved in 44.32s.
"Yes, I was rapt with the little girl," said Lawrence.
"She is powerful around Hatrick and I like her draw [three].
"She is all set for her return trip down there."
Thrilling Logic, which has drawn the ace trap for Friday, is developing into something of a "bridesmaid" stayer, having occupied minor placings in recent group staying events.
"He is a consistent stayer," said Walsh.
As well, Thrilling Logic always did everything right and always gave 100 per cent, she said.
It is a huge night of chasing action with four heats for the Brad Canty Wanganui Cup also being contested.
The Group 1, $21,000 final will be staged next Friday evening and will include the popular Wanganui Punter of the Year competition.
