WANGANUI'S Peter Belliss has been confirmed for a new-look national selection and coaching panel through to the end of 2016.
Belliss MBE, will join the New Zealand management team consisting of head national coach Dave Edwards, Sharon Sims MNZM and returning coach/selector Raelene Peters.
Bowls NZ chief executive Kerry Clarkannounced the appointments on Friday.
Edwards acknowledged the departing Terry Scott, who was involved with the national teams up to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, for all his contributions.
"Having Peter Belliss step into a more comprehensive role is fantastic," Edwards said.
Belliss won Commonwealth bronze medals at the 1994 Victoria games (men's fours) and 1982 Brisbane games (singles).
He won World Championship gold in 1984 (singles), 1988 (doubles) and 2000 (triples).
The appointment covers a number of international tournaments, culminating in the World Championships in Christchurch in November 2016.
"With the World Champs on our home greens in 2016, expectations of the total team are very high," said Clark.
"We strongly believe we have appointed a selection and coaching panel that will deliver our players in the best possible form to ensure we bring multi-gold medal results back to New Zealand."
