Organisers will have another go at getting Whanganui's biggest annual track cycling event out of the blocks at the velodrome tomorrow afternoon after the February 18-19 postponement for wet weather.
Rescheduled to this weekend, the 20-discipline event will be headlined by theWheel Race, as well as Under 15-17 grades, invitation sprints, 10km sprint and scratch races, along with keirin events and points races.
Ron Cheatley is hopeful that a couple of the stars who had to miss the original meeting - specifically two-time Wheel Race winner Jordan Castle and 2016 junior world champion Campbell Stewart - will be able to attend.
However, busy work commitments means while he has put the invitation emails out to all areas of cycling, Cheatley is unsure who will be available at short notice.
"I know one busload is coming from Wellington," he said.
Also hoped to be back are Cambridge's Luke Mudgway and Cantabrian Olivia Podmore - who won the men's points race and women's sprints respectively before rain called a halt to proceedings last month.
Yesterday's long range Metservice forecast for tomorrow called for a few showers, but clearing, with westerlies strong for a time.
