Suzuki Series promotions manager Allan "Flea" Willacy was delighted the final round in Whanganui on Saturday slipped by without incident.
The usual vantage points around the Cemetery Circuit were teaming with spectators, although Willacy said a "fair number" were tucked in under trees finding shelter from the blistering sun.
"Itwas pretty hot and a lot were looking for shelter, but the day went like clockwork," Willacy said yesterday.
"We estimate similar crowds to other recent years and this time they all behaved themselves. The racing went smoothly. There were a couple of offs [crashes], but nothing too serious. I think one guy may have broken a leg, but that's the nature of motorcycle racing.
"We finished racing and started to pack up by about 4.30pm and that's early," he said.
