Two Wanganui cyclists won a brace of medals each at the National Club and Age Group Road Cycling Championships in Napier at the weekend.
Alan Luff won gold in the Masters division 7 time trial and silver in the road race, while Pat Johnstone claimed silver in the Masters division6 time trial and road race.
Other solid Wanganui performances in the road races came from Jason Sturzaker in the Masters 2 (12th), Rob Manson in the Masters 6 (16th), Lewis Bunker in the Under-23 (16th), Paul Forrest in the Masters 4 (19th) and Adrian Pettit in the Masters 3 (22nd).
Unfortunately, Steve Cowan had a fall in the Masters 4 race when in a prominent position and was forced to withdraw with a cracked rib.
The championships attracted large fields in all age groups.
