The 2015 Rugby World Cup dreams for Wanganui-reared All Black Waisake Naholo have all but ended after the 24-year-old will miss the next three months of action with a cracked tibia.
The Highlanders winger made his test debut against Argentina in Christchurch on Friday night, and was substituted in the
52nd minute by Colin Slade. Coach Steve Hansen said the coaching staff were shocked by the diagnosis.
"He was weight-bearing on it and he looked pretty good but he got back here last night [Friday] and it got really sore, so Doc thought he better get it scanned and in the scan there's a very fine crack in it."
Naholo had looked good in his first outing in All Black colours, going on several big breaks, while coming close to scoring his first test try in the corner during the first half.
"He impressed us and although he made a couple of small errors, the good things he did were very, very good," said Hansen.
