Collegiate's runners are in good form for this weekend's National Secondary Schools Championships after several top placings at the Dorne Cup in Wellington on Saturday.
The Cup, one of the top North Island cross country events, is held annually at Trentham Memorial Park in the Hutt Valley.
A top contender
for the nationals in Christchurch, Liam Back won the Men's Under 18 race over 4km in 12m 50s for a photo finish with Wellington Harrier's Liam Chesney.
George Lambert was third in the Under 15 race over 3km, with his 10m 5s time being half a second behind Trentham United Harrier's Finlay Seeds and Olympic Harrier's Will Anthony.
In the Women's Under 18 race of 4km Collegiate's Caitlyn Alabaster and Sarah Lambert were fifth and sixth respectively, posting a 15m 44s time.
