THE Wanganui Collegiate School 1st XV is thriving despite a rigorous rugby schedule on multiple fronts.
Recently appointed Collegiate director of rugby Guy Lennox said since going down to Feilding Ag, the team has won the last four on the trot.
"We compete in the Central North Island secondary schoolcompetition, which has opened up to even include the likes of Wesley College. We also have our traditional fixtures against other colleges and next week the annual quadrangular tournament in Christchurch," Lennox said.
"The last four matches included a 29-12 win over Rathkeale, 89-nil over Hutt International Boys, 65-0 over St Johns from Hastings and 18-17 against Lindisfarne College (Hastings) on Tuesday. The guys are going very well despite the busy schedule."
Lennox said Collegiate was sitting in third spot on the CNI leaderboard behind top of the table St Paul's and Feilding Ag.
"The quadrangular next week is going to be tough. We are up against Wellington and Christ Colleges who are top of their own competitions and also Nelson, the current Moascar Cup holders. We also have an upcoming fixture with Te Aute (Hawkes Bay) which will be televised for the Sky Rugby channel," Lennox said.
