Wanganui Collegiate's tennis team will represent Central Zone for the mixed grade at the Tennis NZ National Secondary Schools teams finals, starting today at Christchurch's Z Energy Wilding Park.
To qualify for nationals, the team had to make it into the top two of tennis schools for central, which isa catchment extending from Taranaki to Wellington.
Hutt Valley High School was the other Central team, and they will join Mt Albert, Trident, Hutt Valley HS, St Andrews College and Burnside High in chasing the national crown.
Collegiate's head of tennis Mark Wilson said he was delighted.
"This is the first time Collegiate has made it through to the nationals in a number of years, demonstrating the renewed strength of tennis at the school.
