Wanganui hosts a match to find the country's top indoor bowls district for 2015 this weekend.
Teams from 34 districts line up in the annual Paterson Trophy competition to be staged over tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday at six different venues around the country, including the River City.
Play will alsotake place in Whangarei, Hamilton, Masterton, Blenheim and Oamaru.
Last year's winners and holders of the Paterson Trophy for each zone are: Zone 1, Thames Valley; Zone 2, Tauranga; Zone 3, Manawatu; Zone 4, North Wellington; Zone 5, Ashburton; Zone 6, Southland.
The winners of the six zone finals meet in the play-off for another trophy - the Welch Trophy at Lower Hutt in September.
Wanganui falls into Zone 3 and players representing the city are Team 1: Warren Freeman (skip), Cary Pinker (3), Mike Sackfield (2), Les Heywood (lead). Team 2: Brendon Kenny (skip), Gavin Scrivener (3), Maria Klitscher (2), Lindsay Bourne (lead). Reserve: Sue Hackett. Manager: Warrick Pinker.
