Chasing action on deck at Hatrick

It's an afternoon of chasing action today at Hatrick, owing to the big-ticket Group races at Addington this evening.

Today's feature race is a strong open-class event over 520m (Race 10, 2.48pm) and it is dominated by Lisa Ahern-prepared greyhounds, as she has accepted with six runners.

Kissing Gwyneth has been treated kindly by the box draw by being allocated the one-trap after her disastrous last start outing in the Group 1 NZ Breeders' Stakes here.

She was trying to push forward onto the early pace when racing into first turn and clipped the hind paws of another runner, leading to a spectacular fall.

Kissing Gwyneth does own early pace and it is this asset that she must use when the traps lift here.

Smash Allegro ran a bold third in the Breeders.

Ritza Danny is a strong, railing chaser, so drawing the two-trap here has enhanced his stakes earning claim.

Tifino has drawn poorly in trap-five, meaning that he must break quickly if he is going to feature.

Check The Mail eased back in class for his last assignment, which saw him delivering a strong 520m win.

He is likely to settle in the rear group from where he will attempt to run on.

Completing the Ahern-representation in this event is the former Aussie chaser Victory Belle.

She is a staying greyhound, who had her last race on Sydney's Wentworth Park, where she raced over the 720m trip on May 16.

The other contenders in this race include Boston Heart.

He strongly won last Friday's version of this race for his trainer Angela Turnwald when he rocketed home from a long way back to claim his meet-best 30.48s win.

Cawbourne Brick completes the drawn field for her trainer Matt Roberts. She also owns a stout finish as was seen by her 1.25m length second-placing to Boston Heart last Friday.
