After three months of waiting for a good Saturday, the Wanganui Board Riders were finally able to get in their annual trophy competition at the Morgan St beach in Castlecliff on Saturday.
Thirty surfers competed in five divisions, with club president Ben Englebretsen winning Men's Open trophy.
Englebretsen said thewaves were really consistent for the entire event, which was a real plus given usually the wind can come up to ruin either the morning or afternoon for competing.
Greg Spence won the Masters grade while coming runnerup in the Men's Open.
The other winners were Jordan Coveny (Junior Men), Daelyn Clement (Under 20's) and Steve Fulton (Long Board).
