She may have been old enough to be some of her rivals' mum, but Wanganui athlete Alison Richards cleaned up in the physique class at the New Zealand Amateur Body Building Association's (NABBA) Christchurch Classic at the weekend.
The 54-year-old commercial cleaner won her 50+ class in the physique categoryand then beat allcomers in the grade to take the overall title.
"I was quite proud of myself. I was probably old enough to be one or two of their mums in that grade, so it was great to win the overall title," Richards said yesterday.
"I won the 50+ physique at Hawke's Bay six weeks ago and just kept training on for the Christchurch Classic."
Richards trains at Club Fitness in Wanganui. "I will now continue training for the nationals in Auckland in seven weeks' time."
