A couple of strong 520m fields features during this evening's Hatrick meeting.

The open class chasers clash in their Race 10 event where a number of Lisa Ahern-prepared greyhounds will be seeking the major portion of the stake here.

Skuzi, who is a Group 1 winner on this track, will step away from the seven-trap here.

Forget his luckless Manukau 527m outing last Sunday where he was the victim of early interference.

Kennelmate Flying Merkel resumed racing over 457m at the Manawatu Raceway on Monday.

He delivered a bold third then and that outing would have improved for this assignment.

Absinthe Minded has endured lousy recent racing luck. He appeals as the type who can inject value into the race combos here.

Looking to deprive the Ahern contenders a portion of the stake is Miss Eldora from the Angela Turnwald kennels.

She was a Group 1 winner at this venue in May and she is provided with swooping claims from trap-eight here.

Local conditioner Freddy Kite is stepping Sedgebrook Magic back up to 520m racing here after his strong 305m win last Friday.

His early pace can make things rather interesting for a long way here.

The prior 520m race sees the C4 chasers engaging in what is expected to be intriguing paw wrestle.

The Ahern-trained Winsome Jenny is benefiting from an easing in class here, which provides her with an opportunity of returning to winning form.

Turnwald is aiming a serious attack on this event.

Fall From Grace has been matching her paws with some strong chasers lately. She'll enjoy the sight easing in class she receives.

Kennelmate Hawkesbury Fever secures the draw advantage here via the ace-trap from where he can make his presence felt.

The form line that another from the kennel - Boston Heart - brings into this race is fairly bleak looking after mixing his recent race distances.

He owns a powerful finish which he can use to telling effect here.

The best bet for the meeting looks to be Subic Bay, who lines up in the Race 3, C4/5 305m dash.

He has drawn nicely in trap-two, from where he can regain winning form after his luckless Manukau 318m sprint last Sunday.
