Bowls - a game for both young and old.
The Bowls Wanganui hosted Subway Victoria Avenue 2-4-2 mixed pairs bowls tournament late last month again proved age is no barrier.
Hosted by Bowls Wanganui, two players. 81-year-old Lelaine Brown and 18-year-old Taylor Broughton both qualified winning three out of four games only going down in the final analysis to
last year's winning combination, Shane Rogers and George Kahui-Rogers from the Terrace End club in Palmerston North.
Fifty-eight teams entered the tournament, including three from Palmerston North, and after two days of play there were 21 teams who qualified with three wins from four games.
After two rounds of post section play the tournament is down to eight teams who will play off to find a winner on Sunday, November 20 at the Laird Park Bowling Club.
