Whanganui enamel-glass artist Heina Petzold shared the inspiration behind his current exhibition at Fine Arts Whanganui Gallery at an event on Saturday.

Petzold talked to visitors to the gallery about his exhibition With Gusto, a series of abstract and figurative works that reflect on the nature of New Zealand's changing landscape. Berlin-born Petzold derives inspiration from rock formations, river valleys, mountains and lakes.

He also had an example, using his own family name, of the family coat of arms work he does. Petzold creates coats of arms for families, using appropriate symbols and imagery, with kiln-fired enamel-glass on copper.

With Gusto is showing at Fine Arts Whanganui, 17 Taupo Quay, until November 8.
