Neighbours Day, launched by Rebecca Harrington of Lifewise in Auckland in 2009 has become a nationwide celebration of neighbourliness throughout New Zealand. It is now a week-long initiative running from March 22 to 31. Whanganui MP Harete Hipango held a meet and greet on Tuesday, Sustainable Whanganui Trust celebrated by inviting business neighbours to afternoon tea at the environment base in Maria Place on Wednesday and Restorative Practices Whanganui are holding a free workshop on Thursday.

THURSDAY

Whanganui Walls
When: Starts today and runs until Sunday.
Details: Street art festival featuring local and international artists. Booklets and maps will be available from the Whanganui i-Site or see the Facebook page.

Introduction to Restorative Practice
When: 8.30am to 4.30pm
Where: Ngā Tai o te Awa, 142 Guyton St
Details: A positive approach to building, maintaining and repairing relationships. Free workshop in support of Neighbours Week.neighboursday.org.nz

River City Artists
From beginners to established artists.
