A major water leak forced the closure of the Davis Central City Library on Sunday.

A major water leak forced the closure of the Davis Central City Library on Sunday.

Whanganui's Davis Central City Library was closed for the day on Sunday after a water leak.

A broken water pipe in the staff toilet caused some minor flooding in the library, a Whanganui District Council spokeswoman said.

"The broken pipe has been replaced and apart from some wet carpet there was no other damage," she said.

The library resumed its normal opening hours on Monday.
