The Whanganui Summer Programme is under way this week with the return of some firm favourites as well as a number of new activities on offer.
Long time Castlecliff resident Lynne Douglas will host a new activity on Thursday with a Past and Present tour of the suburb followed byafternoon tea at the Citadel Cafe.
Castlecliff underwent some big changes last year with the redevelopment of Rangiora Street and Ms Douglas will take visitors on a tour starting at the Duncan Pavilion.
"We will start with a session in the pavilion and people can ask questions and look at the photos on display before we start the walking tour," said Ms Douglas.
A keen photographer and keeper of local knowledge, Ms Douglas will lead a tour of significant sites around the changing neighbourhood.
She hopes there will be past Castlecliff residents on the tour who will enjoy sharing memories as well as taking in the redevelopments initiated by the Progress Castlecliff group.
The tour will conclude with afternoon tea and a chance to have photos taken with the suburb's pet dinosaur - a triceratops created by Whanganui artist "Driftwood" Jack Marsden-Mayer.
