Brass Whanganui received $15,000 from NZCT for percussion instruments.

Brass Whanganui received $15,000 from NZCT for percussion instruments.

Six Whanganui applicants have been awarded grants in the New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) September funding round.

The largest local grant was for $60,000 to Wanganui Collegiate and St George's schools for a multi-sport turf and fencing.

Brass Whanganui and Hospice Whanganui each received $15,000. Brass Whanganui's grant is for percussion instruments and Hospice Whanganui will put its grant towards the salary of a medical education officer.

Aramoho Bowling Club received $11,500 for irrigation sprinklers and painting of the clubrooms.

Whanganui High School was granted $10,000 towards the salary of a sport pathway coach and Wanganui Tennis Club received $1800 for spraying of courts and surrounds.

The grants are made from funds that NZCT receives from gambling machines in local venues.
