Everything from pet food to fridges has been donated to the flood stricken people of Edgecumbe by Whanganui residents.
Wayne and Gail Pointon, who arranged for a truck and trailer of goods to be sent to the Bay of Plenty town, want to thank locals for their generosity.
Mrs Pointon
said they got "clothes, blankets, pillows, furniture, beds, toys, books, fridges, kitchen appliances, cutlery, plates and food.
"[We got] pet food, someone even thought of the chickens.
"We were overwhelmed how generous and kind people were, going and buying new towels, flannels etc.
