Breathe easy
The District Health Board is getting behind "Breathe Better September" to raise awareness of respiratory conditions in New Zealand. GPs across Whanganui will put out checklists about asthma, better breathing and healthy homes during September and that information will also be shared online.
Respiratory diseases are the third leading
cause of death in this country and more than 700,000 New Zealanders suffer from a breathing condition. Breathe Better September hopes to get people thinking more about how they can improve their respiratory health.

Making it in China
The Whanganui Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the New Zealand China Cross-border Electronic Commerce Foundation, is organising a workshop about how to succeed with e-commerce in China.
The workshop will be at 1pm to 5pm on Tuesday, September 25. Details are still being finalised. Contact ce@whanganuichamber.net.nz for more information.

Online prices rise
The average asking price for Whanganui properties listed on property website realestate.co.nz in August was $318,015. The average asking price in July was $277,129. The site recorded 82 new listings in Whanganui for August. The average asking price for the Manawatū-Whanganui region was up 3.7 per cent to a record high of $370,597.

100% SWEET as
The Whanganui Chamber of Commerce and Industry's September Business After 5 (BA5) event will focus on the 100% SWEET initiative. "100% SWEET" stands for 100% of Students in Whanganui in Education Employment and Training.
The organisation works mainly with businesses, tertiary providers, secondary students and secondary school teachers. The BA5 is at 5.30pm on Thursday, September 27, at the Innovation Quarter, 179 St Hill St. RSVP to ce@whanganuichamber.net.nz

Prize no illusion
Congratulations to the Livingston family, Ian, Nicky, Sam and Emma, who have won the prize draw for tickets to the Celtic Illusion show at the Royal Wanganui Opera House on Sunday, September 9.
We asked you to tell us which country Anthony Street, the show's creator, director, producer, choreographer and lead dancer, is from. The answer is Australia.
