Whanganui Musicians' Club reopens

The committee of our Musicians' Club has decided to hold its first monthly club night since lockdown, putting measures in place that conform to government guidelines under level 2.

There will be a limit of 100 people, and everyone attending will need to have current memberships, with up-to-date contact details. Committee members will be on hand to process membership renewals and people are welcome to join on the night.

Seating will be around tables of no more than 10, and ushers will ensure all movement of people goes smoothly. The club's "bring your own food and drink" protocol means that there are no food and drink service issues.

And yes, there will be dancing ... We look forward to the new 'social distance boogie'!

Our local musicians will be so eager to get back on stage, and we suggest that anyone wishing to play contact the club to book their spot 'on the board'.

We are considering innovative options to protect singers using the house microphones – socks, tissues and rubber bands have been suggested!

There is sure to be a lot of 'data gathering' at the door, so we will open at 6pm and with the limited seating capacity, we suggest you come early. The music is set to begin at 7.30.

As we prepare to welcome you 'back' to the club, the guidelines limit attendance to 100 people.

We will have to adhere rigorously to that number, and refuse entry to anyone once that limit has been reached.

So please, come out and support the club. Let's get together to enjoy each other's company and the music we make!

Annual memberships are $30, and the door charge $10.
