Whanganui diabetes group gathers for picnic at Bason Botanic Gardens

Whanganui's diabetes support group gathered for a picnic at Bason Botanic Gardens yesterday.The chairwoman of the Diabetes NZ Whanganui branch, Linda Carter, said the group gets together on the third Sunday of every month for a fun day of games in the sun.

"It was also nice to recover after Saturday's eventful raft race that we all attended."

Ms Carter said the picnic was open to everyone and usually the group gets a mixture of ages attending.

"We also have a gathering in Marton on the fourth Sunday of every month."
