With now only two and-a-half days to go before voting closes in the local body elections, about two-thirds of the voting papers in Whanganui still haven't been returned.
As at midday Wednesday 11,300 of the 31,000 voting papers had been received by the electoral officer. That's 36 per cent and
700 fewer returns at the same time in the 2013 election.
Any voter thinking of mailing their voting papers back has missed the boat too. Posting them now means they will not be received before voting closes at midday Saturday.
If want to get your vote counted then you will have to deliver it to the Whanganui District Council office in Guyton St.
