With the duck hunting season kicking off at the weekend, this rather large version of the waterfowl appeared on the Whanganui River.
A chance for a bit of easy target practice for hunters whose aim wasn't too good? No, in fact the giant inflatable duck is promoting an upcoming beachcleanup.
Students from Westmount School Taranaki campus, based in Hawera, are cleaning 12 beaches in the Whanganui and Taranaki area on May 14 as part of the "I Love My Beach" event.
Rick Anderson, the Whanganui project team leader and father of a Westmount student, said Plumber Dan had allowed them to use the duck to promote the cleanup, and Display Associates had donated a banner for it.
"We are still taking donations via our website," Mr Anderson said.
