Truck crash closes State Highway 1 south of Taihape

A truck crash has closed State Highway 1 just south of Taihape

A truck crashed just south of Taihape in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The crash happened at approximately 2:30am at the intersection of Gorge Road and State Highway 1, and the truck ended up on its side.

State Highway 1 just south of Taihape will be closed for most of Saturday morning while the crash site is cleared.

No one was injured in the crash.

Police said a crane was being brought in to remove the truck and that meant the road could be closed for up to five hours.

Diversions are in place and police ask motorists to be patient if they experience delays.
