Children at the Aramoho Kindergarten were busily playing with their new toys on Thursday after a local toymaker donated a bunch of trains, cars and a bunny.

Lee-Anne Davies, of Stumpies Wooden Toys, dropped off the items to the kindergarten on Thursday morning.

"These are toys designed for young children. We love seeing young children play with them," she said, noting the toys were good for developing children's skills and communication.

"That's why we've decided to do this."

She said they "wanted to do something nice and assist with early childhood learning".

Head teacher Sybille Knoerr said Ms Davies gave them a call the day before and said she wanted to drop off the toys.

"How wonderful is that? It's just brilliant," she said.
