Seven Whanganui organisations receive grants from New Zealand Community Trust

Wanganui Table Tennis Association received a grant of $6000 from New Zealand Community Trust.

Whanganui community and sports organisations received more than $84,000 in the latest round of New Zealand Community Trust grants.

In the April funding round, YMCA Central received $50,000 towards the upgrade of an ablution block in Whanganui.

Community House Whanganui Association was granted $5000 for salaries for two office assistants.

Sports groups that received grants were Awa Kings Muay Thai Club ($7484 for boxing equipment), Rivercity Squash Club ($10,000 for new carpet and gas heater), Wanganui Indoor Bowlers Association ($1985 for hall hire), Wanganui Rowing Association ($3900 towards the salary of an event manager/funding co-ordinator) and Wanganui Table Tennis Association ($6000 for hall rental).

Venues that operate gaming machines contribute to the grants fund.
