Sport and recreational organisations needing financial aid are being welcomed to apply for the second round of funding from Sport Whanganui.
The funding is part of the $265 million Sports Recovery Package announced at Budget 2020 and the amount awarded will be decided on a case-by-case basis up to a maximum of $25,000 per organisation.
The applications are now open for those organisations that experienced financial hardship between July 1 and September 30.
The previous Community Resilience Fund supported nearly 2000 clubs and regional organisations experiencing financial hardship as a result of Covid-19.
The Community Resilience Fund Phase 2 is another opportunity for regional organisations to seek financial relief up to the value of $25,000.
"As New Zealand rebuilds post Covid-19, we know that many sport and recreations organisations are still going through a difficult time. This fund will support a wide range of organisations with their fixed and operational costs over the coming months," Sport and Recreation Minister Grant Robertson said.
Eligibility for the fund has been broadened, allowing applicants that are not affiliated to Sport NZ national partners to apply.
Organisations can claim assistance for operational and fixed costs to help them continue deliver and activities for the community.
Applications for the fund close on Friday, September 4.
