Desmond Tyrell has been named in the Gain Line Invitational XV to face Manawatu Under 19's at Cooks Gardens on June 13.

A "Gain Line Invitational XV" will represent Wanganui rugby against the Manawatu Under 19's at Cooks Gardens next week.

Selected after the Town vs Country trial on Friday night and including 19 players who took part, the 23-man side is predominantly Wanganui's most talented teenagers and players in their early 20's.

Front rowers Gabriel Hakaraia and Jack Yarrall have Mitre 10 Heartland Rugby experience for Steelform Wanganui, while utility back Shandon Scott will take on veteran status for the squad in his mid-20's, giving him an opportunity to set the direction as his on-field communication has been very strong in club rugby.

Hooker Dylan Gallien, flanker Chris Breuer and winger Harry Symes were NZ Heartland Under 19 representatives at last year's Jock Hobbs Memorial Under 19 tournament.

The team will train at the Marist club next Monday night, before the game at Cooks Gardens on June 13 with a 7pm kickoff.

Meanwhile, Hurricanes recruitment and development manager Darren Larsen is hosting an "Engine Room" coaches seminar at Cooks Gardens on Wednesday at 6pm.

The course is for secondary school and club coaches to learn position specific training techniques for hookers, props and locks.

Wanganui players will be participating.
