About 50 vintage and classic motorcycles are expected to set off on a 100-mile (161km) jaunt around the region next month when the Wanganui Vintage Car Club celebrates its 34th annual Castrol Autumn Motorcycle Trial.
Club spokesman and long-time enthusiast Bill James said the riders will be a mix of
members and enthusiasts from clubs around the country. "Each rider is given two or three sheets of A4 paper with a set of instructions and they can then set off at their own chosen speeds to complete the 100-mile course," Mr James said.
"The first bike will leave our clubrooms in Patapu St in Wanganui East at 9am on Saturday, April 18 for the all-day ride. This is our 34th running of the event and Castrol has sponsored it for every one of those years."
