Whanganui Police are seeking the owner or owners of jewellery allegedly stolen more than six months ago and used to pay a drug debt. The pieces include a distinctive locket, gold, silver and diamonds.

Constable Simon Beswarick said the jewellery was taken to Palmerston North by two Wanganui women, who tried to sell it without knowing its value.

It was allegedly given to them in payment for a drug debt, and allegedly stolen by a Black Power associate.

It's likely to have been stolen before June last year, Mr Beswarick said.

The items are a gold infinity chain, two gold rings with round edges - one with two diamonds and another with seven diamonds, a gold ring with flat edges and a V-shaped diamond, a gold locket of distinctive shape and pattern and two silver rings - one with round edges and one diamond and another with flat edges and a large diamond.
