A drive to get some toilet paper ended badly for a Whanganui woman.
Gayle Ranginui pleaded guilty before the Whanganui District Court to charges of driving while disqualified, reckless driving and failing to stop for police.
Police prosecutor Racheal Willemsen told Judge Phillip Crayton police signalled for Ranginui to stop
on November 5 at 3pm.
Ranginui pulled her vehicle to the side of the road for a few seconds and then sped off.
Police gave chase and some time later Ranginui lost control of the vehicle.
She skidded off the road, crashing in to a fence, causing considerable damage.
When arrested, she told police her aunt had asked her to get some toilet paper from the store.
