Two open class 305m sprints provide the main chasing action during Friday evening's Hatrick meeting.

The first of them (Race 4) has last Friday's luckless sprinter Bigtime Opal drawn to create her own racing luck from the one trap for her trainer Lisa Cole.

Her kennelmates Bigtime Sugar and Allegro Lass are both capable of pushing the likely warm favourite close.

It was great to see Sedgebrook Babe winning last Friday during her return into the open class sprinting ranks for veteran local trainer Freddy Kite.

She shrugged off challengers to her early race lead to deliver her 305m win. She will be jumping from trap four here.

Another local trainer Brian Marsh has done a tremendous job in quickly obtaining open class status with his young sprinter Hip Hop Rapper, who reached the elite class in just his eleventh career race when winning here last Friday.

He will be jumping from trap two this evening (Race 5) and a competitive 305m sprint can be expected from him.

Mark's Boy has compiled tidy-looking stats from the ace trap and he'll leap from that trap for Cole here.

Others from the Cole kennels who can feature at the business end of this dash here are Bigtime Stu and Bigtime Doug.

The main 520m event this evening is the Race 9 C3/4 event which is completely dominated by Cole-prepared greyhounds who has seven of the drawn runners contesting this event.

The rush of winners from the Cole, Palmerston North-based training operation has continued unabated in the new season.

She started yesterday's racing with 95 winners already listed beside her name just five weeks into the new season.

Bigtime On Fire chased home her classy kennelmate Bigtime Paddy in last Friday's C4/5 520m main event.

She secures an easing in class here and her kind trap two draw can see her featuring here.

Both Bigtime Jay Jay and Bigtime Basher won at last Monday's Manawatu meeting and they are benefiting from bonus C4 outings here.

Consider Bigtime Vanessa has a candidate for a post race podium finish.

She isn't known for her early pace, however she is known for her strong finish which she can use to telling effect here.
