One dead after McDonell Rd crash near Ohakea, Manawatū, road closed

A person is dead after driving their ute into the back of a parked truck this afternoon.

Police were called at 1.10pm and told a ute had crashed into a truck parked on the side of McDonell Rd in Ohakea, Manawatū.

“The driver of the ute was killed in the crash. There was nobody in the truck at the time of the crash”, police said in a media statement.

McDonell Road would remain closed while the Serious Crash Unit examined the scene of the crash.
