Iraia Whakamoe, Ryan Prebble and James Coyle playing Whanganui in August.
Wellington "innovative blues" band The Nudge is set to play Whanganui's Lucky bar on August 19 and has been chosen as support act to Midnight Oil a few weeks later.
Band Members Ryan Prebble, James Coyle and Iraia Whakamoe say they are inspired by multi genres of music that help
to form a complex sound often termed as psychedelic swampy blues with an element of party.
The band plays Whanganui as part of a nationwide tour to promote its album Dark Arts, released in February.
One music reviewer described The Nudge's sound as: "A moody, mesmerising journey through psychedelia, the album is perfect late-night medicine for your soul, a happy marriage of the trippier moments of Pink Floyd, the Doors and Tame Impala."
Following the tour The Nudge supports Australia stars Midnight Oil on its two NZ shows - September 9 in Auckland and September 11 in Christchurch.
