A Whanganui car dealership is on the move.

David Jones Honda and Nissan, currently located on the corner of St Hill Street and Dublin Street, will be shifting premise to 330 Victoria Ave.

David Jones Motors dealer principal, Gareth Jones, said the company bought the new premise a year ago and W & W Construction started on the developments earlier this month.

"We are aiming to be open for business at the new premise by December which is really exciting," Mr Jones said.

He said the new location offers more of a profile and better flow for customers.

"It is a similar size premise to the one we are in now but it will have a rear entrance of Wicksteed Street which will be handy."

The family business has run a Suzuki dealership on 276 Victoria Ave for a number of years but in December 2015 they expanded with a Honda and Nissan operation located at the Hill St spot.
