Whanganui's James Rountree was the best 15-19 year old rider in both his bike divisions at the North Island Secondary Schools Motocross championships on Friday.
Hosted by the Wanganui Motorcycle Club on the club's track at Languard Bluff, the contingent of local riders made the best of racing on home soil, with Whanganui High School winning the overall points with a strong turnout of 16 riders among the 70-odd to compete.
Rountree won both the 125cc crown and the 250cc 4 stroke title for his grade.
Troy Bullock came third overall for the 13-16 years grade in the 85cc class, while Ajah Sullivan did well on her move up to a 125cc machine by finishing third overall in the girls class.
