The man killed in a crash on state highway 3 near Whangaehu on Sunday has been named by police.
He was 23-year-old Whanganui man Daniel Roy Thompson.
Police extend sympathies to his family and friends and the Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
Traffic was diverted from State Highway 3 folllowingthe crash on Sunday and the the driver of a second vehicle was transported to Whanganui Hospital with moderate injuries.
The crash happened on the highway near Ruatangata Rd around 12.30pm.
