A Wanganui man facing violence, weapons and burglary charges yesterday apologised for past bad behaviour in court, baring his nipple as he did so.
James Thomas Moke, 45, appeared in the Whanganui District Court charged with burglary, assault with intent to injure, intentional damage, other burglary and two charges of
possessing an offensive weapon.
Throughout his appearance he held his orange shirt down from his right shoulder to expose his nipple. Neither Moke nor his lawyer made any comment about the reason for this behaviour.
Defence counsel Debbie Goodlet applied for Moke to be bailed but Judge David Cameron declined the application.
Before being returned to the cells Moke asked to speak, which Judge Cameron allowed.
