Let's talk writing, business and the weather

Auckland-based writer Katherine Dewar will be running worshops and joining a panel discussion for La Fiesta in Whanganui.

Book lovers will remember Auckland-based author Katherine Dewar who launched her debut novel Ruby and the Blue Sky in New Zealand at the Whanganui Winter Wonderfest in August 2016.

The author is pleased to have been invited to Whanganui again to participate in this year's La Fiesta programme where she will be featuring in three events.

The first event will see her participating in a climate change panel on February 23 about the role of creativity and extreme weather at the Education Room of the Whanganui Environment Base.

The following day, Dewar is offering two workshops at the Women's Network, one providing insights as a first-time publisher and author, and the second is a dynamic and persuasive marketing workshop.

The novel is a feminist, climate change thriller about fame, power, sacrifice - and tea.
Now working on her second novel, the author also uses the power of words in her ethical marketing business, GoodSense.

As part of this work, Katherine has run workshops for the Sustainable Business Network, the Strengthening Communities hui and the University of Auckland in writing effective marketing messages.

Raised in the UK in a house filled with books, computers and animals, Dewar studied politics and worked in Leeds before emigrating to Aotearoa NZ in 1996.

Prior to Ruby and the Blue Sky, Katherine has had a short story published in the Black Swan Collection, Home, and is a frequent contributor of non-fiction online and in magazines.
