SITTING PRETTY: One-eyed reporting got Donald Trump where he is today.

SITTING PRETTY: One-eyed reporting got Donald Trump where he is today.

I love how little old New Zealand has a reputation for world-class wines.

Lately, however, one could be mistaken for thinking we have become a leader in the sour grapes department.

Ever since Donald Trump's supposed "shock" win, all manner of journalists, columnists, writers and the self-proclaimed politically savvy seem to have embarked on a mission to continually bash the man ... to the point where it could be considered elder abuse or, at the very least, bullying.

And that makes these writers little better than the man they insist we should all fear and loathe.

Perhaps I'm reading it wrong, maybe they are just angry at themselves.

It must be somewhat humiliating for all these "experts" to publicly acknowledge how wrong they were. Sucked in, along with all the other mindless masses, to believing that Hillary Clinton's campaign was nothing more than a mere formality.

Then there's the added insult of knowing they were duped by mainstream media and their ever-reliable high-tech polling methods, not to mention their extremely reputable read of the people.

Oh, the power of believing your own carefully crafted propaganda. I imagine some of them must be feeling like a right bunch of idiots, while others - if their writing is anything to go by - are just bitter and twisted and have opted, instead, to throw a temper tanty.

The sheer ignorance and arrogance they all showed during the US presidential campaign, mocking Trump at every turn as they continued to churn out article after article steeped with sycophantic praise for the emphatically resounding loser.

I'd be mortified too, had I been that stupid, naive and gullible.

But enough is enough. No one loves a good record more than me, but a broken one just becomes annoying.

All the arguments they are making now in the face of defeat should have been made pre-election. The horse has bolted now.

Trump may be partially deaf and clearly has blinkers on, but he won his race fair and square and with considerable ease. Banging on and on about it week after week and putting every move he makes under a microscope will do little or nothing to change the mind of this US president.

Where are all the articles expressing disgust at the behaviour of Clinton voters post election? The same people who said it would be Trump's "great unwashed" following that would see America descend into chaos and anarchy.

I see only them rioting, burning flags and causing disorder as they drag their knuckles along the streets in protest. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Yet media only seize upon the same old stale headline about "anti-Trump protesters".
Instead of focusing on the actions of the people, they attempt to sway our opinion of him by prefacing his name with a negative such as "anti". It's this continual one-eyed reporting that got Trump exactly where he is today. Have they learned nothing?

Love him or hate him, why should Trump be the only one to have his actions questioned and highlighted. Why should law-breaking rioters get a free pass and not be held accountable for their horrendous actions just because they're Clinton supporters?

All these naysayers need to stop spitting the dummy and bite down on it for a change. #winenotwhine
