It's city of sales as deals revealed

Wanganui is going on sale again.

Mainstreet Wanganui's Wanganui on Sale weekend, which was held over a weekend last year, has been extended to a four-day event.

This year's sale started yesterday with "out to lunch", where eight business in the central business district offered lunch specials for $10.

Tonight is especially for the ladies with a "girls' night out" late-night shopping evening. Twenty businesses will be staying open from 5pm to 9pm, offering special deals, drinks and nibbles.

Tomorrow will be the big day for the sale, with 31 businesses signed up to be part of the fire sale, to clear their wares for new spring and summer stock.

Sunday offers a second chance for a bargain, with 13 stores opening up for the occasion.

Participating retailers will have signs on display corresponding to the events they are involved in.
