The thunderous roar of motorbikes could be heard across parts of Whanganui on Good Friday as Hells Angels former leader Shane Bullock was laid to rest.
Mr Bullock died on Monday after he was involved in a crash at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Whitford Brown Avenuein Porirua.
The 50-year-old was escorted back to Whanganui on Tuesday afternoon by family and members of the Hells Angels.
His funeral was held yesterday at the gang's headquarters in Kaikokopu Rd, followed by his burial at the Aramoho Cemetery.

About 150 motorcycles escorted the stand-in red Ford Falcon hearse along Aramoho's Somme Pde - a deafening tribute to the one-time local Hells Angels president. Hundreds more family, friends and well-wishers gathered at the graveside.
Mr Bullock's son Jack and daughter Hazel have spoken out about their loss.
Jack said his father was still quite young but had lived his life to the fullest. "Dad will always be remembered as the big cuddly family guy and as a big bad ass from Hells Angels - that was his life and that was who he was," the former Whanganui District Councillor said. Hazel said she couldn't imagine life without her dad.
