It's all about the leading New Zealand bred greyhounds at Hatrick on Friday night, where two 520m heats will be held to decide the finalists for next week's $11,470 New Zealand Racing Series Advance (NZRS) decider.

NZRS races are reserved for Kiwi-bred chasers with the series designed to reward the breeders of the greyhounds involved.

The official breeder receives half of the stake money on offer in all finals.

In this instance it comes as no surprise to see Lisa Cole-bred and trained greyhounds dominating both heats. The first heat (Race 7) sees her kennel star Bigtime Paddy chasing after his 37th career win.

He is expected to achieve that, despite drawing poorly in trap five.

Another kennel mate, Bigtime Tears, is expected to quickly punch forward from trap eight, while Bigtime Wendle and Spare Some Time provide Cole with sound back up qualifying prospects.

Looking to gate crash a potential full Cole-trained podium is the Marcie Flipp-prepared Idol Tom, and he holds genuine claims of being able to do that.

He isn't the quickest away from the traps, however he owns a power packed finish.

The second heat (Race 8) will see Cole's leading contender Bigtime Levi exiting from trap one.

He isn't overly suited to that draw, although his strong finish is likely to see him featuring at the business end of this event.

Other Cole-trained qualifying chances in this heat include No Time Toulouse, Bigtime Twinkle and Bigtime Jason.

Holding distinct winning claims in this heat is the northern visitor Cristiane Cyborg.

She is better known as a stayer who owns a withering finish and it certainly wouldn't surprise to see this Halley Mullane-prepared chaser dive bombing her entire opposition here.

The qualifying process for the $60,000 Formpro Amazing Chase continues during this evening's action.

The Amazing Chase is an exciting race format which will see two greyhounds go head-to-head in four 520m match races when the final is contested at Hatrick on July 27.

Three tracks – Addington, Manukau and Hatrick – are used as qualifying venues with the holders of the leading times clocked on those tracks converging for the final.

Three greyhounds will advance from the Hatrick qualifying period, until July 22.

Bigtime Paddy currently holds the quickest official Hatrick 520m time at 30.03s.

Looking to knock him off his perch this evening is the Craig Roberts-trained Auckland Cup title holder Dirk Bale.

He adds spice to the open class Race 10 over 520m, as does the presence the NZ Cup winner Nature's Gent for Angela Turnwald.
